Medical outreach

The doctor smiles as the next patient sits down. He asks: ‘What is your problem?’ The lady grabs her ankle and says: ‘It just hurts all the time’. After a quick check up the doctor smiles again and says: ‘Oh, I’ve seen this problem very often with women who will kick their husband’. The lady stares at the doctor very seriously and says: ‘But doctor, I never kick my husband. If I’m angry I punch him right in his face’.

Last week we were blessed to have a medical team from America come to Yang Sisurat district to provide two days of medical clinics.

People could come to see the doctor for free, receive free medicine and most important to hear about a way bigger problem that we have… our soul. Doctor Doug, a missionary from IMB in Thailand, is the one who comes out to Isaan to do the clinics. His desire is to assist church plants in unreached areas of Thailand by providing free and good medical care.  Normally he brings a big team along. Some of his staff are trained evangelists and they share the gospel. Quite a big part of the team were English teachers, who did a program a the school. We work together with one purpose: To see Christ glorified among the Isaan people.

During the 2 days we had more then 300 people come to see the doctor. Everybody heard the gospel one on one and we received the contact information of those who showed interest in the gospel. We’ve been doing follow up after the team left and last Sunday we had some people who came to church for the first time.

Please pray that God will bring many people to himself through these 2 days of outreach.
